It is said that you have to fall in love with a house to make it your home.

In our search for a holiday home during a tour through France, we accidentally came across this farm 'à vendre' in a dead-end street in the Charente. The beautiful authentic barn immediately caught our attention. Because we like a challenge, we could not resist -secretly- to look inside the empty farm. Our mouths fell open: beautiful Burgundian floors, a modern renovated kitchen, spacious cozy rooms and a large charming fireplace ... they made our hearts beat faster.

When we wanted to drive on, Jean, the neighbor of the nearby farm, came to take a look. We admitted that we were very interested and Jean immediately suggested to give us a tour - after approval of the owner. How much luck and coincidence can you actually have? The warm welcome, the cozy atmosphere, the nicely equipped rooms, the mezzanine ... The region with its many possibilities also appealed to us strongly. We did not hesitate for a second.

And so it happened. Two days later we had an agreement and four months later it was 'our' house in l'Homme de l'Epine (the man with the thorns).
