Welcome to l'Homme de l'Épine, a renovated farmhouse in the Charente in south-west France.
The holiday home with gîtes in typical Charente natural stone, is located near the village of Cellefrouin between Poitiers and Angoulême, only 720 km from Bruges and is situated at the end of a dead-end street in a charming hamlet.
The farm includes a spacious cozy barn for 7 to 13 people with beautiful garden and private pool. Together with the 2 gîtes there is room for up to 23 people.
With a view over a valley of fields and forests, you can enjoy maximum privacy and absolute tranquility.
It is a hiking, cycling and mountain biking paradise in a region with many regional discoveries.

THE HOLIDAY HOME
The recently renovated barn offers all the comforts for up to 7 or 13 people: a fully equipped kitchen, 5 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, open living space with mezzanine equipped with a football table and multimedia.
The living room opens onto the covered terrace. From the terrace you have a beautiful view over the private pool, the beautiful garden, the valley with fields and forests.
TWO GITES
The gîtes are ideal for a larger group as an extension of the holiday home. Families or friends can stay in their own gîte (privacy) but enjoy the large terrace, the swimming pool and undertake activities together.
The gîtes can also be rented separately without access to the swimming pool.
The larger Son can accommodate up to 6 people: a basic kitchen with living room and wood stove, 3 spacious bedrooms and 1 bathroom.
The Sonnette is a studio for 4 with kitchen and living area and wood stove, 2 bedrooms (double bed and 2 single beds) and a small bathroom.

You are on vacation. Cleaning is not part of it. We make sure that you have time to just enjoy and do fun things.
SURROUNDINGS and ACTIVITIES
The village of Cellefrouin is 3.5 km from the holiday home and has 500 inhabitants: Celloises and Celllois.
A bakery, butcher, small supermarket, pharmacy, open air swimming pool, café and restaurants can be found in nearby Saint-Claud, about 7km from l'Homme de l'Epine.
For supermarkets, DIY, gas station, bank,... it is best to drive to Chasseneuil-sur-Bonnieure (12km)
ACCESSIBILITY
By car
720km (7h) from Bruges: Lille, Paris, Orleans, Tours, Poitiers, Cellefrouin
Parking is possible outside (under the walnut trees) or within the domain.
By train TGV > book with SNCF
The station in Angoulême is 35 minutes from the holiday home.
From Tourcoing you can reach Angoulème in 4h15 by TGV.
(Almost) every day there is a train at 6am arriving in Angoulème at 10.15am (from €19).
You can reserve a car directly with your train ticket (from €80)
(Almost) every day there is a train at 5:30 pm that takes you back to Tourcoing at 10:15 pm (from €19).
By plane
Angoulême – Cognac International Airport is 30 minutes from the holiday home.
Limoges-Bellegarde Airport is 55 minutes away and Poitiers - Biard Airport is 1h15m away.
Bordeaux–Mérignac Airport flies to and from everywhere and is a little further 1h50 from the house.
